Welcoming Daan: Our New Community Manager at The Hague Tech

As the seasons change from winter to spring, we have lost a flower (Fleur) but a new one has blossomed. We are happy to announce that Daan Bijvoets as of this month is our new Community Manager. Having worked at The Hague Tech as an events assistant and with a career in horeca and hospitality, Daan brings with him enthusiasm, excitement, and a goal to bring the community closer together than ever. The Hague Tech is a community fostering innovation and collaboration while acting as a professional hub for entrepreneurs, tech talent, and changemakers. Daan is eager to start growing the community and building valuable connections between members and the greater tech ecosystem. 

Born and raised in The Hague, Daan was an integral part of THT’s move to the iconic Stationspostgebouw in the heart of The Hague’s Central Innovation District. He has been with THT since last August and has made positive contributions both to the team and the community. When our previous community manager Fleur moved onto an opportunity with the Dutch National Police, Daan was immediately top of mind to fill the vacated role. When accepting the role, Daan’s first thought was that he is “ really looking forward to building together with the community.”

Daan is excited for new initiatives to engage the community such as our New Members Breakfast and our upcoming Current Members Meetups. These events highlight Daan’s focus on bridging the gap between community members because as he put it, “everyone here is very friendly and open. They truly love to share their knowledge with each other.” This spirit is alive and true with the recently founded Dutch Language Club that Daan has been facilitating. Together with Daan we are also excited to announce a new initiative called Wine, Cheese, and AI which will involve a panel discussion together with a sommelier. 

Through his time already at THT, Daan has met many companies at THT but is working hard to make sure he meets everyone within the community. There is such a wide range of expertises in and outside of tech within the building and Daan wants to be a connector between experts and those looking to work together. Being in the new building of THT provides a “very friendly, open space, where members love to share knowledge.” A true music lover, Daan has already begun to network with other musicians and kick off jam sessions with THT community members.
