The Hague, October 17, 2024 – The Hague Tech (THT) is thrilled to announce its relocation to the iconic Stationspostgebouw at Waldorpstraat 5 in The Hague within the heart of The Hague's Central Innovation District, surrounded by key educational institutions including The Hague University of Applied Sciences, ROC Mondriaan, and Leiden University. This marks a significant step in THT's growth, reinforcing its commitment to fostering a vibrant community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers, all while providing state-of-the-art facilities for offices, community, and events.
The new site will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration, offering flex and co-working, meeting, and event areas for up to 250 people, along with a community-oriented layout designed to encourage connectivity. "We're not just an office space," said Edwin Beeker, Managing Director at The Hague Tech. "Our new building is designed to be a living room for the community, where members can connect, collaborate, and grow together." This new location will not only be a landmark in the city’s tech ecosystem but will also play a key role in developing the "Tech Quarter" in close collaboration with the Municipality of The Hague.
"We are very pleased The Hague Tech has found a new location within the Central Innovation District (CID). Their presence and participation in the business and college community near the new premises will be much appreciated. We are certain the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit of the CID will inspire each and everyone who operates within the realm of The Hague Tech," said Robert van Asten, Deputy Mayor and Alderman Urban Development, Libraries, and European Affairs and Saskia Bruines, Deputy Mayor and Alderman of Finance, Economic Development, and Culture for the Municipality of The Hague.
Olga Wielders, Co-Founder of The Hague Tech, expressed her enthusiasm about the move: “I can’t be more excited that we’ve found the perfect headquarters for our community. A place where we can bring together the whole tech ecosystem and work towards more collaborations and innovations. We will not only develop the building and area, but also be the linchpin of the Central Innovation District.”
The opening on January 27th, 2025, will be accompanied by TechFest—an annual three-day festival in The Hague. Organized in collaboration with WorldStartup, TechFest is dedicated to exploring the practical applications of future technology. The event will feature AI workshops, a Hackathon for Good, and GovTech, as well as opportunities to connect with innovative community members such as Solar Monkey, UbiOps, BlueGen.AI, Fledger, and Digicampus.
This collaborative effort with partners such as Odido and PostNL, local talent institutes, and the Municipality of The Hague aims to cultivate a thriving tech cluster in the heart of The Hague, driving forward the city's vision for a sustainable and innovative future.
